How did you become the caregiver for your loved one?
In 2017, my husband was diagnosed with Amyloidosis. Soon after receiving two stem cell transplants, he had three strokes. Over the next few years, multiple issues came up where I had to resign from my job.
Has your relationship changed with the loved one that you are caring for? If so how?
Unfortunately, it has been more caregiving than anything else.
What is the hardest thing about being a caregiver and the most rewarding thing?
The hardest thing is seeing your loved one going through so much, the best thing is being there for him.
What advice would you give to other caregivers?
Pray for strength and always take care of yourself, you can burnout easy.
In ten words or less, what has caregiving taught you?
Patience and compassion for situations that are out of everyone’s control.
Describe a situation where being a Fearless Caregiver helped you succeed?
In the beginning of caring for my husband, I felt like I couldn’t handle the responsibility but putting my faith and strength ahead of my fears.
