Easter was a challenge, to say the least. My mom was so out of sorts and that really triggered me. I did the best I could stay calm and patient, but it really wasn’t easy. Grateful to friends and family who were there to help!

I just heard that Roberta Flack was diagnosed in 2022. Wow, I didn’t know that. She’s one of a number of celebrities known to have ALS. Eric Dane from Grey’s Anatomy, too. As a caregiver, I’ve seen a number of caregiver over the years with an autoimmune disease and heard their stories about the challenges of getting a diagnosis. For all caregivers out there, don’t ignore your own symptoms. Keep pushing through until a clinician listens, understands and genuinely moves forward to help.
