I saw My Care Friends post on LinkedIn about the launch of Global Caregiving Youth Collective series. This is awesome! I was a caregiving youth and it absolutely impacted me in various ways. Great that there will be light on this topic from young carers themselves!
One thing that’s happening a result of all the difficult changes in the healthcare system is that I”m becoming a much better (stronger) advocate for both my mom and myself. Ask questions and don’t be afraid to say you have a right to know all in your records, because you do!!
What a challenge it is to have family that won’t help with my mom! This includes a brother that wants very little (nothing) to do with actually helping, as shown by his actions and not his words.
