At just 18 years old, Chevy already knows what it means to lead with compassion. After graduating high school and earning her CMA in January, she found herself at a crossroads. Nursing didn’t feel like the right path, but caregiving did.
“I knew that if I could help people – even just make their day a little brighter – that would be meaningful work. That’s what brought me to caregiving.”
A referral from her sister led her to Senior1Care’s Angola office, where she connected with the team and quickly found her place. From day one, she was struck by the warmth and support of everyone she met. “The people here are just incredible. The communication, the kindness, the pride in the work…it’s unmatched,” she shares. “One of my biggest supporters has been a Senior1Care care coordinator. She has been my literal lifeline and has always been so helpful, caring, supportive, and just so amazing.”
Though new to the field, Chevy is already a team lead and a trusted companion to her clients. She focuses on meeting their needs first, whether that means preparing a favorite meal, reading the newspaper together, or catching Jeopardy at 7:30 p.m. sharp.
“The better your relationship, the more they trust you. And then it doesn’t feel like work, it feels like hanging out with a friend.”
She even makes time to build relationships with her clients’ families, sharing meals and game nights when they’re visiting, and always offering a listening ear.
A Bright Future

Caregiver Spotlight – Chevy
As she begins her college journey, double majoring in psychology and criminal justice with a minor in philosophy, Chevy is grateful for the flexibility and support she receives from the Senior1Care team.
“They work around my school schedule, offer me a grace period after classes, and make sure I still get enough hours. I can focus on school and still do what I love.”
And when she’s not studying, working, or reading, you’ll find her singing – loudly and proudly.
“I have really good control over my voice when I sing. I might sound like a dying seal when I laugh, but singing is one of my biggest hobbies!”
Fun Fact: Chevy recently had her senior pictures taken. We’re thrilled to celebrate her accomplishments as she embarks on the next chapter of her journey and for bringing joy, thoughtfulness, and laughter into every life she’s touched.
