DESCRIPTION:The 22nd annual Striking a Balance Caregiver Conference will 
 be held the week of August 14th\, with virtual caregiving seminars on Augu
 st 14th through 17th at 2:00 pm daily (CST)/3:00 pm daily (EST)\, and an i
 n-person Town Hall Meeting &amp\; Luncheon on Saturday\, August 19th\, fro
 m 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Austin (6505 N
  Interstate Hwy 35\, Austin\, TX 78752) .  Hosted by AGE of Central Texas
  and the Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area\, this annual event is t
 he largest\, longest-run free caregiver conference in Central Texas.\n\nDu
 ring this free annual conference\, family caregivers discover local resou
 rces\, learn new skills to meet the needs of their caregiving situation\, 
 and connect with other caregivers and local experts on aging.\n\nVirtual C

 th: “Engaging Your Family in the Caregiving Journey” with author\, col
 umnist\, and caregiving expert Dr. Barry J. Jacobs – navigating family d
 ynamics\, dealing with guilt as a caregiver\, advocating for yourself with
 in the family\, and how to deal with a loved one that refuses outside help
 .\n 	Tuesday\, August 15th: “Tools for Safe Caregiving” with Dena Cart
 er\, Occupational Therapist – how to use durable medical equipment\, per
 form transfers\, and keep yourself and your loved one safe.\n 	Wednesday\,
  August 16th: “Aspects of Self-Care” with Samantha Young\, author and 
 eldercare consultant – the importance of self-care\, and how to find wha
 t works for you.\n 	Thursday\, August 17th: “Managing Dementia Through E
 ffective Caregiving” with Faith Lane\, Alzheimer’s Association – man
 aging behaviors\, practical information &amp\; techniques\, how to find he
 lp\; why raising your voice is important.\n
